Carita Lynne Arnold
Carita Lynne Arnold, 63, of Miramar Beach, Fla., formerly of Herculaneum, died Feb. 2, 2017, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Ms. Arnold was a businesswoman and a member of the Herculaneum United Methodist Church. She enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, reading and planning her next adventure. Born in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Marilyn Jean Frazier Shelley and Leon H. Bess, and the stepdaughter of the late Norman F. Shelley. As an elementary school student, she was the winner of a contest to name the newly reorganized Dunklin R-5 School District.
She is survived by two sons: Cory L. Arnold of Utah and Mitchell (Kait) Arnold of Columbia; four siblings: Linda (Wayne) Conroy of Tucson, Ariz., David (Cindy) Bess of Arnold, Carla (Mike) Cordell in Chesterfield and Kim Shelley of Alton, Ill.; and a number of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Steven F. Shelley.
Visitation is at 11 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for noon Saturday, March 18, at Herculaneum United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the church at 672 Main St., Herculaneum, 63048; or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave., St. Louis, 63110.
